Baby, it's cold outside!
Negative 5 in North Dakota right now! And you thought it was cold in the South! Keith says it's off though, because radio reports say it's -14. Yep, time to slip on the FOREVER LAZY!
View from a Window
Keith has been on an journey these past two weeks. An adventurous and treacherous journey! Keith signed up to work on a 2-3 month job in North Dakota as a safety manager or "safety guy" as he calls it, with Rocky Mountain Fabrication. Before the job started, Keith was required to make the trek out to Salt Lake City, Utah for training. Since Keith worked in Utah for 9 months back in 2005-2006, he was excited to see old friends of ours! After that, Keith headed to Tioga, North Dakota. It was amazing to see the different landscapes as Keith drove from state to state.
Toward the end of the trip, and with only a few hours to go, Keith had a car accident. While pulling the trailer with his truck across Butte, Montana, it started to snow sideways. Keith was driving 30 mph and a few miles from his exit when an 18-wheeler flew past him, pushing him across ice and into a ditch. We were thankful to God that he was not injured. Only the truck and trailer were damaged! This was a big scare for all of us, but he was okay and learned from the experience.
Keith made it to North Dakota a couple of days later and is now enjoying -14 degree weather! We're hoping there are no more twists and turns while he is out there working and that he will return home safely in a few months. We love you sweetie!
Here are photos Keith sent me while traveling across our great country (as well as shots of the truck and trailer damage).

Reagan giggles
When I picked Reagan up from school today she pointed up the the bulletin board at school with a picture of Martin Luther King, Jr. on it. Reagan laughed and said, "That funnnnny man! Hee hee. I still don't know who he is."
A Day in the Life
So, here's what I did today while Keith was out of town.
6:30-Alarm went off, hit snooze until 7
-Shower, turn on Reagan's cartoons, get Reagan up, get Reagan dressed/hair done, make R breakfast
-Prep my work bag (coffee cup, lunch, water bottle) and Caroline's diaper bag (spare bottle and nipples)
-Make Reagan's lunch (she requested yogurt with her sandwich today) and 2 drink cups
-Mix bottle, change Caroline's diaper, grab a warm hat for her, feed her a bottle, help Reagan brush her teeth. R wants to hold Caroline, she does so for about a second, then asks me to come get C. Sit Caroline in her bouncy seat.
"Reagan, put your plate in the trash."
-My turn! Brush teeth, Makeup, hair, iron pants.
"Reagan, turn the tv off, we're about to leave"
-Find shirt and boots, put on jewelry.
-Load Caroline into her carseat with blanket.
"Mom, I need my little pink umbrella"
-Give Reagan her umbrella, grab coat and raincoat
-Step out into the freezing cold sleet and wind. Load diaper bag, R's backpack, R's lunchbox, my work bag in car.
-Run C and R out to car.
-Pink umbrella flies away.I run to get it (halfway across the yard) I step in a deep puddle. Shoes and socks are now wet. Go inside, change shoes. I'm wearing Birkenstocks until I get to work. I don't even care at this point. Grab another pair of boots for later. Hair is a limp mess.
-Heat up car, head out at 8:40!
-Arrive at RCC (daycare), drop off Caroline at the nursery, drop Reagan off at the gym where the 4's class is. "Kiss, hug mommy"...Check in girls on keypad, head to work.
-9 am-Park in parking deck, take Galleria elevator up to work elevator all the way to the 10th floor.
-Grab coffee and begin to address emails. Slow work day....thank God!
-Order party invitations and proof.
-The snow starts coming down and I hate that I can't show it to Reagan. Thankfully the school is taking the kids out to play in it for a little while.
-RCC daycare is closing at 4, I leave at 3:30, get home around 4:30. There's no snow to play in now.
I feel awful that the snow is gone. I pick Reagan up, run her over to Keith's spare truck, which has snow on it, and we grab a handful. We take turns throwing it and Reagan just loves it. I feel much better and I'm hoping we get snow again this winter.
-I get all of our bags and mail in. Reagan wants a snack. Get her a snack, change Caroline's clothes and get her a bottle.
-Caroline and I take a quick nap while Reagan watches Dumbo.
-I wake up refreshed. For once! And.....it's dinner time. 6 pm.
-Heat up some soup and make buttered toast. Dinner is served! Throw some Reese's cookies in the oven and some laundry in the washer.
-C is still sleeping. Better get her up. Got her plate of baby food ready. She's eating turkey, squash and apples tonight. She clears the plate.
-Straightened up kitchen. Cleaned out fridge. Loaded bottled waters to the fridge.
-Bath time for C. Put on her pjs, sit her in the bumbo to play.
-Bath time for R. We spelled words with the bath letters while I cleaned the toilet. Reagan asks can she clean the toilet and gets upset when I tell her "Not this time. You're getting clean in the bath."
-Finish cleaning the floors while simutaneously handing C's toys to her since she drops them every minute or so. Clean sink. Change out hand towels.
-Get Reagan out, organize tub toys. Give R vitamin and clean her ears, put on her panties and pjs.
-C is ready for her bedtime bottle. I try to teach R to give her a bottle. She does okay for a few minutes, but has a hard time holding C up and the bottle and everything. I let R play on her LeapPad while I feed Caroline.
-Laundry load #2 is in. I play the "laundry organizing game" with Reagan. She divides up the clothes by owner.
-Brush Reagan's hair. Lay out clothes for her for tomorrow. Lay out C's clothes.
-Hang up mirror in Reagan's room that has been bugging me. Can't find a hammer, so I use a screwdriver. Done.
-Kisses and hugs to Reagan as she gets tucked in. "Night night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite!" she says.
-Lay out C's clothes, kiss and hug to C and put her in crib. She's not ready.
-I sit with Caroline and rock her and rub her head. She falls asleep about 15 minutes later, so I put her to bed.
-Take out my bathroom trash and kitchen trash. Run outside to put in the garbage bin.
-Run dishwasher. Clean up and dust a little.
-Wipe down wood in living room, vacuum floor.
-Fold laundry while watching Grey's Anatomy. I end up diagnosing a patient before they do. Go figure. Put away laundry.
-11:30-empty dishwasher and check on girls one more time.
-Head to my bedroom for nightly rituals (brush teeth, take out contacts, etc. etc.). Prayers, set alarm for 6:30.....eh, better make it 6:45 for tomorrow. Reagan has a dentist appointment (cleaning) tomorrow.
Let's just say.....I'm exhausted. I can only imagine my days once Keith starts working 6 states away in a couple of weeks! Night all.

Celebrations
I'm busy doing what I simply LOVE to do.....plan parties. I have a growing list of parties to plan this year. Here's what we have so far:
1. My sister's birthday/Valentine's party-A fun Valentine celebration we try to do every year. Lots of fun!
2. Keith's birthday party-I'm thinking of doing a bowling-themed party
3. My sister's baby shower-The party planning is somewhat on hold since we don't know if baby McAdams is a girl or boy yet.
4. Caroline's 1st birthday-This will be my first SUMMER party to plan for a child. I cannot wait! I'm planning on having a baby pool, sprinklers, barbeque and ice cream. All the best things of summer!
5. Reagan's 5th birthday-I'm hoping to throw Reagan a Mickey/Minnie Mouse party. I've already gotten the Ok from her, but the party is about 9 months away, so I'm hoping she doesn't change her mind.
Lots of fun is in store!

Valley Girl
Today I told Reagan she could pick out an outfit for Caroline to wear. After looking through all of the hangers of baby clothes in Caroline's armoire, Reagan picked out a pink onesie for her to wear.
We grabbed the onesie and carried it over to Caroline on the bed.
Reagan held it up and said, "Here's your outfit, Caroline! Do you LOVE it?!?" I nearly died laughing.

Are we there yet?
Last winter, spring, and summer (well, most of the year) I was either pregnant or on maternity leave. What that means is that the Mosley family took VERY few trips. Now that I am no longer huge and pregnant or nauseated from morning sickness, I am looking forward to taking some family trips this year. Here are a few places we hope to see in 2013.
1. Camping Trip-Keith's favorite! He's been asking to go camping for many months.
2. Tybee Island/Savannah, Georgia or Charleston, South Carolina-I have had Tybee Island on my vacation list for a while now. I really want to go to Paula Deen's restaurant, The Lady and Sons, and stay in a cute beach cottage.
3. Orange Beach-We're hoping to go to Orange Beach with the girls in June or July and then again by ourselves for our Anniversary in August.
4. Stone Mountain, GA-We have memberships at Stone Mountain until December 31st 2013, so we're looking forward to taking a nearly free trip this summer for the water rides and laser light shows in July or August.
5. DISNEY WORLD! We're saving up our money to take Reagan to Disney World since she's never been. This will be our biggest and most expensive trip of the year, but we are looking forward to taking her and seeing her excitement!
6. Snow Mountain, GA-For the past few years (since Reagan was 2) we've gone to Snow Mountain, which is Stone Mountain, GA morphed into a blanket of snow! It's so much fun to go and play in the snow, watch Christmas shows, ride the train, and drink hot chocolate by the fire pits. Since we have the Stone Mountain memberships, the trip will be very inexpensive!
What trips do you plan on taking this year?
Our Little Muggard
For reasons unbeknownst to me, little 4-year-old Reagan has given 6-month-old Caroline the nickname "little muggard". We had no clue where she heard this, but it sure is funny. Maybe it's because it sounds like "mugger". We even had to look up the word "muggard" because we'd never heard of it.
After we told Reagan that muggard means, "sullen" and "sulky" and "displeased", which hardly descibes our little baby, she still insisted that Caroline is a little muggard! Reagan has been very involved with nicknames for Caroline. When Caroline was newborn, Reagan combined "Caroline" and "Boo-boo" to come up with "Caribou". Another time she observed Caroline's fuzzy head and started calling her "coconut". So, it should come as no surprise that we now have a little muggard in our household. We can't wait to see what nickname Reagan comes up with next.
Out of the mouths of babes!
Our Little World
Hello friends!
I have decided to venture into the world of blogging again. I once tried to start a family blog, but felt like I couldn't keep up with all of the posts I was "supposed" to be posting. Needless to say, this type of blog was not for me. With this new blog, I plan on posting lots of the little things that happen from day to day, as opposed to the every single event that goes on!
"Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things!"

Hope you all enjoy visiting my space. Away we go!
